University of Kent Cricket Club to take on walking challenge in aid of Movember

Five members of the University of Kent’s Cricket Club: Jarrett Mee, Ollie Fletcher, Tom Garlick, Ben Gallifent and Matt Scammell will be taking on the challenge of walking from Lord’s Cricket Ground in London to The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence this weekend in aid of Movember.

Covering a distance of over 60 miles over three days, the team will be dividing the walking challenge into three parts:

  • Friday 3 December: Lord’s to Dartford
  • Saturday 4 December: Dartford to Sittingbourne
  • Sunday 5 December: Sittingbourne to The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence, Canterbury

The challenge, originally scheduled to take place in 2020, was postponed until this year during to COVID. It has already raised over £1,400 pounds towards Movember; raising awareness of Men’s Health issues.

One of the challengers, Jarrett Mee, said: “The cause is extremely close to our hearts as young men at University making our way in the world, and it’s so important to keep the conversation going around the issues that Movember are tackling.
