A Groundo’s Gathering
Wednesday 21st June 2023
On Sunday the 30th of July 2023 we’ll be hosting a gathering for ground-staff at The Spitfire Ground, alongside the Australia 70+ vs. Kent 70+ fixture. This informal session will feature:
- Adrian Llong – Kent Cricket, Head of Grounds
- Phil Jeggo – The GMA, South of England Pitch Advisor
- T Parker & Sons – Turf-care supplier based in Kent
As long as conditions allow, Adrian will conduct a walk of the square and match pitch, talking the attendees through the preparation that has taken place. Followed by showcasing some of the key equipment that is used at The Spitfire Ground and how that has evolved over the years.
Also sharing their knowledge and expertise will be Phil Jeggo from The GMA and representatives from T Parker & Sons. Providing a unique opportunity to chat with industry experts and fellow ground-staff from around the county, in a relaxed setting.
We aim to wrap up the content by 13:00, enabling lunch to be served in conjunction with the start of play where you are then welcome to stay for as long as you wish.
This event is provided free of charge to clubs that play within the Kent Cricket League and Kent County Village League.
