Become a Young Leaders’ Hub Club

Monday 21st November 2022

Kent Cricket is looking to link up a small number of Hub Clubs with Young Leaders in Cricket to host the 2023 Programme in their areas.

The Young Leaders in Cricket programme (YLiC) is designed to give 14 to 16 year olds the opportunity to use their knowledge of cricket to develop their leadership and life skills. The programme introduces young people to the ethos of volunteering, why it is so important to become part of a volunteer workforce to keep clubs going and to help those in wider society who might be less fortunate or struggling.

A Hub Club hosts the 4 modules for the Young Leaders’ Programme, with the dates and times agreed between the Club and the Young Leaders in Cricket team, typically falling between March and May.

What a Hub Club Needs

  • A Club House with space for 16-20 attendees for the indoor elements
  • An adult (with DBS Check/Safeguarding qual/First Aid) to be on site when the 4 modules are taking place
  • Access to chairs/tables/water/toilet
  • Projector/Screen/TV (useful but not essential)
  • Defibrillator (useful but not essential) for the First Aid module
  • An interest in being one of a few select clubs to host the programme in 2023

Hub Clubs will be invited to attend a brief ‘Enthuse’ webinar hosted by the Young Leaders in Cricket team in January to get a better understanding of the programme and the next steps.
