Moore Supports Girls’ Cricket Growth in Folkestone & Hythe District

Kent Women and South East Stars cricketer Kalea Moore, has recently made an appearance at a new girls’ winter cricket programme in Folkestone.

Moore attended the session at Three Hills Sports Park in Folkestone on Sunday, to show support for the softball and hardball programmes offered for girls in the local area and inspire the participants.

With a few cricket clubs in the area looking at growing their girls’ cricket sections, these sessions have brought together a number of girls keen to play the sport and create a training group in some quality facilities. This was a timely opportunity for the girls to meet Kalea and benefit from her now wide-ranging playing experience, having played in The Hundred competition in 2021.

Kalea was able to work and support a range of girls from 7-15yrs old on their spin bowling, getting involved in their warm up, skill builders and a competitive game to finish. This also left time for a Question & Answer session, with the girls keenly asking the Kent Women’s Player everything about her cricket career to date.

Helen Fagg, Kent’s Women’s & Girls’ Community Cricket Manager stated “It is fantastic to see female cricket starting to grow in this area and brilliant that Kalea could be there to inspire the girls and tell them about her professional career in cricket. We hope the aspirational effect of her visit will encourage the girls to stick at it and love the game”
