Kent Young Leaders in Cricket 2022

Kent Cricket is working in partnership with Kent Young Leaders in 2022 to provide training support and to spread the word on the benefits of being involved in the programme.

The purpose of the Young Leaders programme is to give young people, between the ages of 14 and 16, the opportunity to acquire new skills and develop their leadership to allow them to volunteer within their cricket club, local community or school.

The training Young Leaders receive is made up of five modules:

  • Activator Coaching
  • Umpiring and Scoring
  • Grounds Keeping
  • First Aid
  • Fundraising

In addition to developing new skills, the volunteering qualifies for the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme. The benefits to the Young Leader include being a role model to younger members of their club, and the programme can be used in a University Personal Statement and/or CV.

The organisers are holding two ‘Enthuse Evenings’ on 1 & 3 February 2022. The evening will give you an insight into how the programme works, the training you will receive and when the training will take place.
