One of Kent’s County Age Group Coaches, Lucy Arman, has recently been interviewed as part of an ECB ‘Hitting the Seam’ Magazine Edition during Women’s Big Cricket Month.

The Under 15 Girl’s Coach spoke about attending the ECB Advanced Coach Programme which has ‘opened up her eyes to a career out there for female coaches’.

Lucy has been balancing a full time job as a Secondary PE teacher, her part time role in the Kent Cricket Pathway and she is the founder and head coach of her own coaching company which has grown from 16 to nearly 50 participants in 3 years.

She summarises her positive learning experience during her recent coaching course and provides some candid insight into why it is vital the sport attracts more female coaches.

Lucy believes that female coaches often bring high levels of emotional intelligence and a natural appreciation of the softer skills, which are so important at the foundation level to get young people to fall in love with and stay involved with sport.
