Matt Hunn takes five wickets and Mitch Claydon top scores for Newcastle City

Kent fast bowlerMatt Hunnclaimed a five-wicket haul for Newcastle City as they took control in their match against Wests in New South Wales.

City skipperMitch Claydonlost the toss and was invited to field and bowled them out for 111 in 32.2 overs.

Hunn bowled an excellent opening spell, claiming five wickets to bring his winter tally to 15 in six matches.

Claydon claimed two wickets andBen Harmisonbowled eight overs at good pace was unlucky not to take a wicket.

In reply, Harmison was caught down the legside for 10 before Claydon struck 63 as Newcastle squeaked past with 116 off 42 overs.

Meanwhile, Kent teammateCharlie Hartleyhas returned home for treatment on his back injury ahead of the new season.

The match resumes on Saturday with Wests on 37 without loss.
