Members’ Working Group: Canterbury Cricket Week

The Club was pleased to host its first Members’ Working Group on Monday 5 December, as part of the Club’s efforts to understand more about our Members’ relationship with Canterbury Cricket Week, the oldest cricket festival in the world.

Discussions mainly focused on what Cricket Week means to Members, cricket fans & the wider community, what is the modern-day role of Cricket Week & how we can move forward.
The Club is pleased to confirm that the 171st Canterbury Cricket Week will be a return to a multi-format make-up, with two T20 matches against Essex Eagles (7 June) & Hampshire Hawks (9 June) preceding a home Championship clash with Surrey, resuming the oldest rivalry in world cricket, from Sunday 11 June.
The first match of Canterbury Cricket Week in 2023 will also be a double-header at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence – South East Stars – the professional regional Women’s team operated in partnership with Surrey & Kent – will face Central Sparks ahead of Kent Spitfires’ ‘Battle of the Bridge’ against the Essex Eagles – with one ticket valid for both matches, & entry for Members guaranteed at no further charge.
Feedback & comments submitted during the Members Working Group will be used to create a schedule of events & activities to make the week a Festival everyone can be proud of, & we look forward to sharing further details in due course.
