Club holds annual Remembrance Service on anniversary of Colin Blythe’s death

Kent Cricket held its annual Remembrance Service on Wednesday 8 November 2023, the 106th anniversary of the death of Kent great Colin Blythe during the First World War.

This ceremony, led by Club Chaplain, Barney de Berry, saw wreaths laid by 3rd Battalion The Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment Sergeant Major Scott Thomas, Club Captain Daniel Bell-Drummond & Club Chair Simon Philip, at the Colin Blythe Memorial, following a two-minutes’ silence at 11:00.

The Memorial carries the names of Blythe and of all Kent’s first-class cricketers who died in the conflicts of 1914-1918 and 1939-1945. It is situated by the Leslie Ames Stand at the home of Kent Cricket.
