Club’s annual Remembrance Service takes place at The Spitfire Ground

Kent Cricket players, coaches, staff & members congregated at the Colin Blythe Memorial inside The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence to mark Armistice Day, 11 November.

The Club’s Chair, Simon Philip & Men’s Head Coach, Matt Walker were joined by the Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment (PWRR) in laying wreaths at the memorial dedicated to the Kent players killed in action during both World Wars & named after one of Kent’s most successful bowlers, Colin Blythe, who fell during the First World War.

In a service led by the Club’s Chaplain, Barney de Berry, all observed a two minutes’ silence to remember all who have fallen during conflict.

This was the first Remembrance Service in which Members had been invited to attend since the end of COVID-related restrictions over the past two years.
