Kent Cricket: Girls’ Indoor School Competitions 2024

We are pleased to confirm that two Kent Girls’ School Indoor Cricket Competitions will be taking place in early 2024.  Details of both competitions, including the fixture schedule and how to enter are below.

CHANCE TO COMPETE:

This was a new competition started in 2023 and is open to state schools only. The main aim of Chance to Compete is to provide a fun and encouraging environment for girls to play cricket. This is a friendly competition and you don’t need to have any previous cricket match experience to enter. There will be an U13 (Yr 7/8) and U15 (Yr 10) competition, with regional East and West group stages and the two winners of each age group, in each region are then invited to attend the County Final on Wednesday 20th March 2024.

  • Year 7/8 (U13 Girls)
  • Year 9/10 (U15 Girls)

INDOOR EIGHTS

This competition is open to all schools, more recently called the ‘Lady Taverners’ competition. Kent’s newly titled Indoor Eights Competition is the county stage of the ‘ECB Indoor Girls’ School Competition’. You will therefore attend your regional county group competition, with the winner of each regional county cluster then playing in the County Final on Thursday 21st March 2024. The school that wins the County Final will then be invited to the Regional Finals run by the ECB, with the chance to get through to the National Finals. Last Year Ashford School were ‘National Runners Up’ with their U13 Girls and U15 Girls ‘National Champions’ in 2022. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to play some fun and highly competitive cricket.
