Two pairs of Kent cricketers will play on opposing sides tomorrow in the Queensland First Grade competition.

Vice-captain Sam Northeast will lead Sunshine Coast Scorchers featuring Ivan Thomas against Kent team-mates Brendan Nash and Daniel Bell-Drummond who play for Northern Suburbs.

Scorchers sit seventh in the two-day league ladder and Norths are in eighth position.

The game will take place at the Norths' Ian Healy Oval, named after the former Australia wicketkeeper.

Elsewhere in Queensland, Adam Ball is set to play for table-topping Redland Tigers against fifth-ranked Toombul at the Peter Burge Oval.

In New South Wales, another quartet of Kent stars are in action but for the same side.

Seamer Mitch Claydon will skipper Newcastle City in New South Wales tomorrow with Ben Harmison, Charlie Hartley and Matt Hunn making their debuts.

Harmison told the Newcastle Herald:"I'm 27 now so I don't really need the five months' experience. I just wanted to come over after Christmas and spend two months getting fit and playing cricket before our season.

"Once Mitch told me what he was doing in Newcastle with a young team, I thought it would be good to come across and hopefully help the young lads through."
